Regular PLO vs Bomb Pot: Key Differences
Random Ranges
In regular PLO, you can estimate opponent hands from their preflop actions. In Bomb Pots, 8-9 players with completely random cards means someone almost certainly has the nuts on any connected board.
Massive Starting Pots
With 8-9 antes, the pot starts at 40-90BB. SPR (Stack-to-Pot Ratio) is extremely low. A pot-sized bet on the flop often commits you to all-in.
No Bluffing
Pure bluffs are suicidal. With 8 random hands, you cannot fold everyone. Only semi-bluff with strong combo draws or play made hands.

Double Suited Hands
The king of Bomb Pot hands. Two suits mean you can make nut flushes on both boards.
High Pairs (AA/KK) with Suits
AAxx with double suits has increased value due to two boards—you have double the chance to flop a set or full house.

Rundowns like T-9-8-7 look good but struggle in Bomb Pots—straights often get beaten by flushes or full houses. Worse, low rundowns make the 'idiot end' of straights that get dominated by higher straights.

Flop: Position is Everything
Always check from early position—7-8 players remain behind you. Even with the nuts, check-raising is more profitable than leading. Late position can value bet strong hands after checking through.
Turn: Watch for Board Pairs
Turn cards on two boards create massive equity swings. A board pairing can upgrade your set to a full house or kill your straight. Pot control is crucial unless you're scooping.
River: Freerolling
Best case: You've already won one board and have a chance to win the other. In this case, bet big. Even if you lose the second board, you still take half. If you win both, you scoop.

Chasing Weak Draws
J-high flush draws or gutshots are often already dead against 8 random hands. Don't pay to see more cards with non-nut draws.
Overplaying One-Board Hands
Having the nuts on one board but nothing on the other means 50% equity at best (50% from Board 1, 0% from Board 2). The problem is when another player also has the same nuts. You must split Board 1's 50%, leaving you with only 25%.
Bluffing into Multi-Way Pots
You cannot bluff 8 players. Someone always calls. Save your chips for value hands.
Core Strategy: Nut Peddling
Play for the nuts or fold. With 8-9 random players, assume someone has the nuts on connected boards. Sets are the minimum—aim for full houses and nut flushes. Second-best hands are chip burners.
